Gomolemo Kekesi is a partner in our Johannesburg office Competition Practice.
She specialises in competition legislation both in South Africa and in other African jurisdictions. She advises on all facets of prohibited practices and merger control across a range of industries including banking, beverage, decorative and automotive coatings, energy and petroleum, mining, milling and baking, retail and sugar. Her expertise extends to competition law compliance audits, general due diligence work and competition law training. She also has experience in corporate law and commercial litigation.
She has B.Com and LLB degrees from the University of Pretoria and is fluent in English and Setswana.
She has advised on:
- Prohibited practices (such as cartels, vertical restrictive practices and abuse of dominance), represented clients in leniency applications and in investigations on prohibited conduct.
- Merger transactions including representing clients in mergers notified in South Africa and in other sub-Saharan countries such as Botswana, Namibia, Swaziland and Zambia.
- Advised on the AB InBev/SABMiller matter which has been nominated for the Global Competition Review (GCR) Awards 2017 Matter of the year: Merger control, cartel, unilateral conduct, litigation or any other competition matter worldwide. Creative, strategic and innovative work by teams of in-house and external lawyers and economists.
