Patricia Williams is a partner in our Tax Practice at Bowmans, with over twenty years of experience. She has exceptional skills, being a Chartered Accountant (SA) and an admitted attorney (LLB). Furthermore, she holds a MBA (cum laude) (GIBS), an H-Dip. Tax Diploma and has completed her chartered financial analyst (CFA) level 1 to 3 exams as well as a BA (Psychology) (cum laude).

Patricia specialises in tax-related dispute resolution including indirect tax. Her accounting and other financial qualifications enable her to assist with financial modelling and pricing calculations in complex transactions, financial risk and settlement modelling in disputes, and tax due diligences. Her business and psychology qualifications provide further negotiation skills. She has a passion for justice, and applies Constitutional and administrative justice law within the tax area, including to mitigate against potential heavy-handed exercise of the broad discretions provided to SARS within the Customs & Excise legislation, Tax Administration Act and other tax legislation.

Prior to joining Bowmans, Patricia built a solid reputation as a tax dispute specialist whilst she was heading up the Tax Dispute Resolution Practice in each of one of the leading law firms in Johannesburg and one of the leading international accounting firms. She also has experience working within SARS.

In view of the ever increasing tax disputes faced by our clients and the litigious attitude of SARS, Patricia adds a critical skill and support to our Tax Team.
