During a recent assignment for a public sector client, the Forensics, Compliance and White Collar Crime practice area was requested to conduct an assessment of a forensic report, drafted by the client’s forensic investigator, relating to whether or not disciplinary procedures should be initiated against an employee for what appeared to be fraudulent conduct. As it turns out, the forensic investigator, who was the original author of the report, was being blamed for drawing incorrect conclusions and making incorrect recommendations in conflict with the facts contained in his report.
