RECENT AMENDMENTS TO THE MINERAL AND PETROLEUM RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT ACT

The Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Amendment Bill 2013 (the “MPRDA Bill”) was approved by the National Assembly and by the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) on 27 March 2014. In this newsflash we offer a brief overview on the main amendments introduced by the MPRDA Bill in relation to the mining sector.
