Overview

Anita is an associate in our Johannesburg office in the Banking and Finance Department and a member of the Finance Practice.

She has experience in finance (debt capital markets and equity) and real estate financing. She advises clients including lenders (both local and international financial institutions), borrowers and arrangers on general corporate law matters, corporate finance, structured finance, project finance and debt capital markets transactions. Her experience in debt capital markets include inward listing programmes for listing securities both on the Main Board and on the Interest Rate Market of the JSE.

She has an LLB (summa cum laude) from the University of the Western Cape.

  • Advising BNP Paribas Arbitrage Issuance B.V. in connection with the inward listings in BNP Paribas Arbitrage Issuance B.V. Note, Warrant and Certificate Programme Certificates in South Africa.
  • Advising Investec Bank Limited in respect of a debt service reserve facility in an aggregate amount of ZAR 67,000 provided to Okavango Biology SA Proprietary Limited.
  • Advising Rand Merchant Bank (a division of FirstRand Bank Limited) in respect of facilities in aggregate amount of ZAR 500 millio made available to Newpark REIT Limited for the purposes of refinancing its existing indebtedness.
  • Advising a group of lenders, which include, Absa Bank Limited (acting through its Corporate and Investment Banking Division), Investec Bank Limited acting through its Investment Banking Division- Corporate Solutions), Nedbank Limited (acting through its Corporate and Investment Banking Division), Sanlam Investment Management Proprietary Limited (acting on behalf of 3rd Party Clients), Sanlam Life Insurance Limited (acting through its Sanlam Capital Markets Division), Sanlam Life Insurance Limited (acting through its Sanlam Investment Management Division), Absa Bank Limited (acting through its Corporate and Investment Banking Division) in respect of ZAR 15,5 billion term loan facilities and general banking facilities provided to Sun Treasury (RF) Proprietary Limited, a subsidiary of Sun International Limited for the purposes of (i) refinancing its existing indebtedness; and (ii) to finance its general corporate purposes.
  • Advising Absa Bank Limited (acting through its Corporate and Investment Division) in respect of a ZAR 1 billion term loan facility provided to Curro Holdings Limited for the purposes of refinancing its existing financial indebtedness and funding capital expenditure of Curro Holdings Limited.
  • Advising Rand Merchant Bank (a division of FirstRand Bank Limited) in respect of facilities in an aggregate amount of ZAR 40,4 million provided to each Fortress Empowerment 1 (RF) Proprietary Limited and Fortress 3 (RF) Proprietary Limited for the purposes of acquiring shares.
