Gabriela is a senior associate in the Corporate department of our Johannesburg office, and is a member of our Mergers and Acquisitions practice.

Gabriela has gained a wide range of experience while serving her articles in the following departments: Dispute Resolution (Commercial and Construction Litigation), Corporate (Mergers and Acquisitions), and Tax. Gabriela has experience in various aspects of mergers and acquisitions including advisory work on a range of issues including local and foreign companies on various domestic and cross-border transactions. Her expertise extends to other commercial matters, including company law, corporate governance and due diligence.

Gabriela has an LLB degree from the University of Johannesburg.

  • Advised Tongaat Hulett Limited in relation to the ZAR5.3 bill sale of its starch business division to KLL Group Proprietary Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Barloworld Limited
  • Represented Oger Telecom in the disinvestment of its majority stake in, and the recapitalisation of, Cell-C, the third largest telecoms operator in South Africa, to Blue Label Telecoms.
  • Advised Apollo Global on the sale of its interest in Milpark Education, a South African private higher education institution, to a special purpose vehicle controlled by Stadio Holdings Limited and Brimstone Investment Corporation Limited.
  • Advised Hewlett Packard Enterprise, a multinational information technology company, on its acquisition of all of the issued shares in the South African interests of US based, Asimmetric group, involved in the business of providing software services and hardware company offerings
  • Advised Hewlett Packard Enterprise on its acquisition of the South African business of the RedPixie Limited, a provider of integrated Azure hybrid cloud solutions, data platforms and cloud application architecture, and thereafter on the South African leg of the global integration of the RedPixie Group Limited into the global group structure of Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
  • Advised Royal Bafokeng Platinum Limited, in relation to the acquisition by its wholly owned subsidiary, Royal Bafokeng Resources Proprietary Limited, of the balance of the 33% interest in the Bafokeng Rasimone Platinum Mine Joint Venture from Rustenburg Platinum Mines Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Anglo American Platinum Limited.
  • Advising the Epiroc Group (and in particular, Epiroc Holdings South Africa Proprietary Limited, Epiroc Drilling Tools AB, Epiroc Rock Drills AB, Epiroc Canada Inc. and Epiroc Zambia Limited) on its acquisition of Innovative Mining Products Proprietary Limited, widely known as New Concept Mining, a South African manufacturer of rock reinforcement products for underground mining.
