Max is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution department of our Johannesburg office and a member of the Litigation Practice.
His experience covers a wide range of disputes spanning the areas of contract law, company law, property law, public procurement and administrative law, with a focus on High Court commercial litigation. Max frequently works in teams acting for large corporate clients in complex commercial disputes.
Max has an LLB degree from the University of Cape Town, BA and LLB degrees from the University of New South Wales and a BA Honours (Philosophy) degree from the Australian National University.
Max clerked for Justice van der Westhuizen at the Constitutional Court for the period July 2015 to June 2016.
- Acted for a large fuel supplier and trader in a contractual dispute with fuel retailers, which led to a favourable settlement.
- Part of a team representing a multi-national gas supply company in a dispute regarding a tender award valued in the region of one billion rand.
- Part of a team acting for an overseas-based educational software company in a tender dispute with provincial government.
- Acting for several individuals in a complex property and land law dispute with the operator of a multi-million rand eco-tourism business.
