Yashveer Ram is a partner in our Johannesburg office Banking & Finance department.
He specialises in project finance and infrastructure-related work. His expertise extends to general commercial law, infrastructure and energy law, public-private partnerships (PPPs) and public law. He also has experience in negotiating and drafting construction and operational agreements, PPP and related agreements, power purchase agreements, general finance and security agreements. He has advised on a number of project, infrastructure and energy related matters including accommodation PPPs and renewable energy projects such as the negotiations and preparation of project documents advising on a renewable energy IPP procurement programme.
Yashveer has an LLB from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
- He has assisted in advising on a number of project, infrastructure and energy related matters, including, amongst others, accommodation PPPs and renewable energy projects.
- He has assisted with the negotiations and preparation of the relevant project documents to be submitted by a lender to a consortium bidding to the South African National Roads Agency Limited for the design, construction, finance, operation and maintenance of the N1N2 Winelands Toll Highway.
- He is currently part of the team advising the Department of Energy, National Treasury and the Development Bank of Southern Africa in relation to the renewable energy and baseload coal independent power producer procurement programmes.
- He is also currently advising the private party concession companies in relation to various post financial close and other related issues arising in respect of the Department of International Relations and Co-operation and the Department of Trade and Industry accommodation public-private partnership agreements.
