Leading African law firm, Bowmans, has announced that Ernest Wiltshire has taken over the reins as managing partner of the Uganda office from William Kasozi.

The seamless transition in leadership took place on 1 September 2019, and underlies Bowman’s commitment to leadership development and skilling which is partly achieved through regular rotation of leaders.

‘It is a great honour to be entrusted with this new responsibility and to be given the opportunity to direct the firm’s operations in Uganda,’ says Ernest whose work with clients in the region covers corporate, commercial, employment and tax law.

William is excited to be able to devote himself full time to his clients in the areas of his speciality - project finance, corporate finance, syndicated lending, equity investments, regulatory compliance and debt collection.

‘I enjoyed my time leading the firm in Uganda, but felt the time had come to give another partner the opportunity to take the helm,’ he says. ‘I am delighted to be handing over to someone of Ernest’s calibre and experience’.
